With regard to chemical products, the traditional process and public cognition are the first line of crude oil - naphtha - olefins, which have been subdivided into different chemical products. So the traditional concept is that the chemical products in daily production and life are only the original raw material, that is, crude oil.

However, with the continuous development and optimization of technology and some changes in the consumption of fossil resources, gradually the crude oil is no longer the only lead of the chemical industry, but in fact, the fossil gas and coal can be the original raw materials of the chemical products.

At present, three kinds of production processes of propylene are facing different problems, and their potential for future development is also very different. In the past few years, only Wuhan petrochemical and Sichuan Petrochemical have been put into operation.

Although the direction of coal chemical industry is strongly advocated in the period of 11th Five-Year, because of its high energy consumption and the actual cost in the low oil price era, there are no advantages of its actual cost, so many subsequent projects are also called to stop. The 2015-2017 year is the stage of coal and methanol production of olefin. In East and Northwest China, many sets of capacity will be built, and the capacity of coal and methanol to make olefins will expand rapidly. In addition to the outstanding environmental protection problem of coal olefin, its location selection is also bound by a lot. In short, the device can only be built near the coal raw material, but the main consumption of its capacity is far away from the production area. Therefore, after 2017, the coal based methanol to olefin device will gradually reduce the growth rate, the development of coal based on the whole will show a state that is still not prosperous and nearly depressed.

Compared with the traditional route and coal chemical industry, in recent years and in the coming period, the best development trend is the PDH plant. The PDH device uses propane gas as the source, dehydrogenate propylene and downwards all kinds of downstream products of propylene industrial chain, which are involved in polypropylene, PO, butanol and acrylic acid. The first set of PDH devices in China started in October 2013. At present, six sets of devices have been put into use, and the total propylene production capacity is 3 million 450 thousand tons.

Because of the shortage of domestic propylene demand in the past few years, coal chemical industry and PDH equipment have come into being to a great extent, but because of the weak planning degree, the result of the project congestion has caused the domestic propylene capacity to rapidly change from the big demand gap to oversupply. In addition, because of the corresponding downstream of most of the propene, the production capacity of the downstream products of the propylene industrial chain is rapidly saturated and surplus, in which butanol and acrylic acid are already super saturated chemical products, and the future development of the market is full of the consumption pressure of overcapacity. The situation of PP is relatively good, and futures are supplemented by operation. The mode of operation of enterprises is relatively flexible.

From the time of production, the concentration of propane dehydrogenation capacity is concentrated in 2014-2017 years. In the near future, the highest number of propylene industrial chain devices with the highest market concern are the Yangzi River petrochemical and Yantai Wanhua. The two sets are all equipped with relatively rich downstream products. However, the low price of chemical products in the two quarter has made the new entry device bear huge cost pressure. As far as acrylic acid is concerned, Yantai's Wanhua acid production capacity is up to 300 thousand tons, will enter the sales link in August, will undoubtedly give the originally tired acrylic market a heavy blow, and view the end of the year, the new capacity part will greatly clamp down the overall opening rate of the acrylic industry chain and form a long pressure on the price surface. In fact, besides supporting PP's performance and prospects, other downstream supporting products are short of profitability in the short term.

In the second half of the year, there are still a large number of propylene and its auxiliary downstream equipment to be put into production. The development of this kind of large petrochemical industry not only has the demand for the diversified application of coal resources, but also the industrial chain of the terminal manufacturing enterprises to expand the industrial chain, and the demand for expanding the market share of the old enterprises. But the flourishing scene of a hundred flowers has met the heavy pressure of the international economic environment and the international crude oil downturn. In the future, the future of the propylene industry chain is more difficult. For enterprises, survival will be the most important.

But for China's chemical industry market, the scene is obviously beneficial, the diversified production line and the full and rich utilization of resources are the optimization and deepening of the current chemical industry structure, the ten years of coal chemical industry and PDH, and the ten years of strategic significance in the chemical industry market.
